Faith Abiodun is an entrepreneur, project manager, journalist, teacher, writer and speaker. He had a very eventful career in journalism from 2005 to 2011, serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan, Nigeria; reporter with Nigeria's media giant, The Guardian Newspapers; host of a radio interview program on Diamond FM, Ibadan; and as a Corporate Communications intern at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. As a reporter, he earned by-lines with 11 Nigerian dailies and interviewed several personalities including 1986 Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka and 2011 Nobel Laureate, Mrs. Leymah Gbowee. His undying passion for youth development led him to establishThe F.A.I.T.H. Initiative (TFI), a nonprofit youth and community development organization in Nigeria in November 2008 with a mission to “build a socially and economically prosperous Nigeria through investments in leadership, entrepreneurship and education”. With projects such as the annual International Youth Day leadership conference, the adopt-a-school project, the Innovation Pitch, a monthly soup kitchen for street children, orphanage outreaches, and other initiatives, TFI has demonstrated a genuine commitment to building a sustainable future in Nigeria, having recruited more than 200 volunteers in 4 years. In November 2009, Faith Abiodun also pioneered The Speech Academy; an elocution and public speaking training institute in Ibadan, Nigeria, with more than 250 trained public speakers till date. He has had a very eventful public speaking career; making presentations on leadership, entrepreneurship, education, conflict resolution, global development and social responsibility at conferences across Africa, Europe and the USA. He is presently engaged at the African Leadership Academy (ALA), South Africa, as Communications Associate and Director of the International Relations Council. In this capacity, he teaches International Relations and Diplomacy, and prepares students to participate at Model United Nations conferences across the world. In April 2014, ALA will host its inaugural Model African Union conference, bringing together young people from all six continents of the world to simulate international cooperation in Africa. Faith Abiodun earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Business and Innovations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Russia. He was a Maxwell Dean’s Professional Scholar at Syracuse University, New York, where he earned a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Civil Society Organizations. At the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, he served as President of the Coalition of Multicultural Public Affairs Students (COMPAS) and on the Honorary Degrees Committee of the Syracuse University Senate.  He is a member of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), Project Management Institute, USA and Toastmasters International, where he earned the ‘Competent Communicator’ and ‘Competent Leadership’ awards in January 2012. He is a columnist with Applause Africa magazine, New York, writes weekly political commentaries on Nigeria's foremost news blogwww.ekekeee.com and maintains a personal blog at www.faithabiodun.com.   As a dynamic young African, his vision is for a continent in which little children will wonder what it means to be plagued by preventable diseases, where schools will become true factories of knowledge, and where infrastructure will be an engine for social and economic development.

  • Information Analyst at GIS Konsult Ltd

    * Supervised the gathering and editing of information for the Route+ project; mapping the largest city in West Africa and releasing the product on digital and paperback media. * Led the advert and sponsorship team to secure funds for the Route+ project. * Coordinated interviews and historical data collection for all Geographic Information System (GIS)-related projects.

  • Corporate Communications Intern at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited

    * Coordinated daily media reviews, organized media interviews, wrote memos and speeches. * Planned and executed conferences for and on behalf of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services. * Organized daily facility tours of the Murtala Muhammed Airport for tourists.
